11.21.09 - Lakewood, Colorado- After losing 3-1 to Southwestern Assemblies of God University in the National Christian College Athletic Association Central Region Tournament opening round, MACU bounced back with a 3-1 victory over tournament host Colorado Christian University on Friday afternoon. The win over CCU puts MACU in the regional final on Saturday afternoon. They will be taking on SAGU in the Championship. MACU won a hard fought battle over CCU. The Lady Evangels took two straight set; the first set 31-29 and the second set 25-22. The Lady Cougars rallied in the third set, winning 25-10. MACU finished the match in dramatic fashion taking the fourth set 27-25. Christiane Costa led the Lady Evangels with her 13th double-double of the season. Costa recorded 16 kills and 11 digs. Freshman Calle Solie had 26 assists in the match. MACU will compete for the NCCAA Central Region title on Saturday, November 21st at the Cougar Event Center on the campus of Colorado Christian University. Start time is set for 1 p.m. |
