2.10.2009 - Oklahoma City, Okla.- Nikki Dieball has been named the head volleyball coach at Mid-America Christian University, Athletic Director Willie Holley announced Tuesday. Dieball, a Mustang native, is not new to MACU; she played basketball and volleyball for the Lady Evangels as a freshman in 2001. She is a member of the 2001 NCCAA division II National Champion volleyball team. Dieball then attended Southern Nazarene University where she played basketball and volleyball. In 2003 and 2004 Dieball and the Crimson Storm basketball team won back to back NAIA National Championship titles. As a senior (2005), she was named to the All Sooner Athletic Conference team for volleyball. Dieball was also named to the All-Academic Sooner Athletic Conference team in 2003, 3004 and 2005. "I am excited to have Coach Dieball join our coaching staff here at MACU," Athletic Director Willie Holley said. "Nikki is an excellent teacher of the fundamentals of the game of volleyball along with possessing strong recruiting skills. Nikki played both Volleyball and Basketball as a student athlete here at MACU. She was instrumental in helping MACU win our first National Volleyball Championship as a freshman, in 2001." Dieball graduated from SNU in 2005 with a BS in Psychology. She is currently working on her Masters degree at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she has been the volleyball graduate assistant for two years. In 2005 Dieball was the interim head volleyball coach at Saint Gregory's University. She has been coaching club volleyball for four years and has been with Oklahoma Peak Performance for the past two years. Dieball and her husband, Jonathan, reside in Edmond. "I am so excited about coming back to the university that jump started my career," Dieball said. "Mid-America gave me a firm foundation spiritually and professionally. My goal is to establish not only a strong team but also a team that is centered around the Lord. I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity to share my passion with our athletes." |
