Softball Adds Lawrence and Sanchez

7.9.09 - Oklahoma City, Okla.- Autumn Lawrence and Tiffanie Sanchez signed a letter of intent to play softball at Mid-America Christian University during the 2009-2010 season. They both come to MACU from the Dazzlers, a competitive team in Oklahoma City.

"We are very pleased to have Autumn and Tiffanie join our program," MACU softball coach Jerald Lewis said. "They both had successful high school careers and we hope to see them make immediate contributions to our team. "

Lawrence, 18, is a product of Latta High School (Okla.). She is a native of Colgate, Oklahoma and the daughter of Don and Cheryl Lawrence. Lawrence pitched and played third base for the Lady Panthers. She was named to the all-state team in both fast pitch and slow pitch softball as a senior. She was also on the Bying all-tournament team as a senior.

Off the diamond, Lawrence was a 2009 graduate of Latta High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was named student of the month.

Sanchez, 18, is a 2009 graduate of Putman City High School (Okla.). The Oklahoma City native is the daughter of Tony and Brenda Sanchez. Sanchez played middle infield for the Lady Pirates. As a senior she was first team all-conference. She was the Lady Pirates most valuable player in 2008. In 2007, as a sophomore, she took home the defensive award and in 2006 she was presented the Pirate Pride award.
