5.1.09 - Oklahoma City, Okla.- The Mid-America Christian University softball team ended their season at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City on Friday afternoon after falling to Southern Nazarene University and Oklahoma Christian University. The Lady Evangels dropped game one of the tournament to Southern Nazarene University 6-0 followed by a loss to Oklahoma Christian University 7-0. The Lady Evangels end their season 19-38 overall with a 2- 25 SAC record.
SNU jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first and the Lady Evangels kept them quite until the sixth inning when Crimson Storm pitcher Andre Pare hit a two-run shot over the center field fence. SNU got their sixth run in the top of the seventh with a solo shot hit by first baseman Katie Hale. MACU struggled offensively with the Crimson Storm holding them to only four hits. In game two the Lady Evangels faced Oklahoma Christian in an elimination game. MACU trailed from the start giving up three runs in the bottom of the first. After a scoreless second, the Lady Eagles added three more runs, giving them a 6-0 advantage. OC got their final run in the sixth when Amy Urbanovsky led off the inning with a home run. Giving them a 7-0 victory. The Lady Eagles held MACU to only two hits on the day. Seniors Kasey Gardner and Kaci Haney ended their career with MACU today. |
