4.27.09 - Oklahoma City, Okla.- Playing at neutral Ann Lacey Stadium on the campus of Oklahoma City University, the Mid-America Christian University softball team dropped a double header to Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Rogers State University on Monday afternoon. The Lady Hillcats took game one 3-1 and run ruled MACU 9-1 in six innings in game two.

RSU got on the board first, scoring a run in the third inning. They tact on two more runs in the top of the sixth before the Lady Evangels put up their first run in the bottom of the sixth.

Kelsey Gabriel singled to right and advanced to third with two consecutive pass balls. She reached home with a ground out by Jessica Fullingim.

The Lady Evangels had runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth with no outs but a ground out and double play ended the game, giving the Lady Hillcats the 3-1 victory.

Kalynne Tweedie takes the loss for the Lady Evangels going the distance in the circle with two strikeouts, giving up three runs, one earned.

In game two the Lady Hillcats took the lead in the top of the first scoring one run.

The Lady Evangels battled back tying the game in the bottom of the second. Kaci Haney hit a double, followed by Courtney Kuebler who reached due to a RSU error, allowing Haney to score.

However, it was the only run MACU would get, committing eight errors in game two, leading to seven unearned runs for RSU.

MACU gave up two runs in the third, and three runs in the fifth and sixth. Gabriel and Haney were the only MACU players having a multi-hit day. Gabriel was 2-for-3 and Haney was 2-for-3 and the only Lady Evangel to cross home plate.

Caitlyn Ulmer Started in the circle for the Lady Evangels, pitching five innings. She had five strikeouts, giving up six runs with only one of them earned on four hits.

MACU will conclude the regular season tomorrow, April 28th at Southern Nazarene University.
