5.11.09 - Lady Evangels Ink Stillwater High School Goalkeeper Stillwater, Okla. - With family and friends looking on, Stillwater High School senior Amber Sumpter signed a letter of intent to play soccer for the Lady Evangels during the 2009-2010 season. Sumpter, 18, is the daughter of Steven and Janet Sumpter. She plays goalkeeper for the Stillwater High School Pioneers and competitively for Blitz. As a senior she was named the Lady Pioneers defensive player of the year. She received All- Conference honors in the Centennial Conference and was named to the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association (OSSAA) All-State team. She was a four-year varsity letterman at SHS, receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore and junior. "We are very excited to have Amber join our program," head women's soccer coach Zach Bice said. "She will be a great asset to the team. She has done an excellent job this year with her high school team and I believe she will be a strong contributor for our squad as well." MACU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Sooner Athletic Conference. |
