Once a successful member of the MACU soccer team, Nathan Phifer returns for his second season as assistant coach.

Phifer brings a wealth of knowledge to the soccer program from his playing days at MACU. From 1999-2002, Phifer was a standout midfielder for the Evangels who led the team in assists his junior and senior seasons. He guided the Evangels to National Christian College Association (NCCAA) National Tournament appearances in both 1999 and 2001.

Phifer was selected to the Interstate Collegiate Conference All-Conference team in 2001 and 2002, as well as being named a member of the NCCAA Southwest Region All-Region Team in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Phifer was awarded the NCCAA Southwest Region Most Valuable Player in 2001 and served as team captain in 2001 and 2002.

While attending MACU, Phifer met wife Valerie and graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Specialized Ministry in Youth and Family Life.

Upon graduation, Phifer was led to ministry where he served as youth pastor in St. Elmo, Ill. for three years before returning to MACU as Men's Resident Director in 2006.

Phifer and his wife, Valerie, reside in Oklahoma City with their son, Tobias (1) and have another son on the way.
