7.16.09 - Cleburne, Texas- Mid-America Christian University head women's basketball coach, Markus Crandall, added Rebecca Anderson to the 2009-2010 roster. "I am excited to have Becca join our program," Crandall said. "She will bring us size and depth at the post. She was two-sport athlete in high school. She runs the floor well and I like her work ethic. She is committed to the classroom; I think MACU will be a good fit for her." Anderson, 18, is a 2009 graduate of Cleburne High School (Texas). While at CHS, she was a four-year letter winner in women's basketball. As a senior in 2009, Anderson was named 4A academic all state, first team all county and second team all district. She was academic all district all four years of high school. In addition to playing basketball for the Lady Yellow Jackets, Anderson also letter in volleyball two years. She was first team all district in 2008, leading her team in blocks. She was her teams most improved player in 2007. Off the court, Anderson graduated Suma Cum Laude. She was member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society. She was also named to the dean's list at Hill County Junior College in 2008. Anderson will enter MACU as a sophomore after earning 34 college credits at Hill College during her high school career. The Lady Evangels finished third in the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament in 2009. |
