11.3.07 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla- The Mid-America Christian University Evangels fell in the Central Region Championship Game to the Central Baptist College Mustangs Saturday, Nov 3. MACU lost to CBC 1-0. "It is disappointing knowing that you worked hard all season and to fall short in the Regional Championship is disappointing," Head Coach Zach Bice said. "I am very proud of the players. We played hard." The game was a defensive battle, with the only goal of the game coming off of a CBC deflection. "This was one of the best games our defense has played all year," Coach Bice said. The Evangels had their chances throughout the game, but failed to capitalize on some golden opportunities. The lone goal of the game came from a Mustang deflection in the middle of the first half. The Evangels continued to attack and create chances for themselves, but they could never find the back of the net. MACU out shot CBC eight to five. Austin Custar capped off a tremendous freshman season with four saves. The Evangels fell to 10-8-2 and will put in an at-large bid for the National Tournament in Florida.
