Men's Soccer Sneaks Past WBU, 2-1

10.16.09 - Plainview, Texas- After falling behind 1-0 at halftime, the Mid-America Christian University men's soccer team rallied back in the second half scoring two goals to sneak past Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Wayland Baptist University 2-1 at Hilliard Field on Thursday afternoon.

The Pioneers took the lead in the 11th minute of play with a goal by John Piperis. WBU held their lead going into intermission.

Jeremiah Huff got the equalizer for the Evangels in the 77th minute off a cross from Joey Yeisley.

The Evangel took the lead in the 87th minute with Pablo Palacios putting away his first goal of the season.

MACU out-shot the Pioneers 24 to nine with nine shots on goal compared to WBU who had two.

Austin Custar gets the win in goal for the Evangels making one save and giving up one goal.

The men's soccer team is back in action at home on Wednesday, October 21st at three p.m.
