Golf Holds onto their Seventh Place Spot in the Final at the Central Christian College Invitational.

9.15.09 - McPherson, Kan.-The Mid-America Christian University Golf team held onto seventh place, tying with Hasting College, posting a second day score of 307 and a two-day total of 607.

Karl Griffith takes the top spot for the Evangels, carding a 73 on day two and a 70 day on one, good enough for sixth place.

Sterling College grasped the top spot in the team competition with a 581 two-day total; followed by Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Matt Costilow posted a 79 on day two with a 153 overall. James Wiginton carded a final round 75 for a 161 total.

Senior Andrew Sheppard posted an 80 on the second day giving him a 157 overall total.

Freshman Jacob McElhany rounded out the starting five with 86, giving him an overall total score of 165.

Other notable scores for the Evangels come from Cody Mosley shooting a second round 77 good for a150 two-day total.

Matt Howard had a season best second round with a 75, giving him a 159 total. Weston Wright also had a 159 for the tournament carding a 77 in the final round.

MACU will return to the fairway on September 21st in Wingfield, Kansas, competing in the Southwestern Fall Invitational.
