3.26.09 - KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Mid-America Christian University men's basketball player, Tyron Goldsmith, was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for the 2008-2009 season.

Goldsmith, a senior forward from Oklahoma City is the first men's basketball player to grab the title. The honor requires a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and is limited to juniors and seniors in academic standing. Goldsmith will graduate from MACU in May with a degree in Mathematics. He played in all 31 games this season starting in 28 of them. Goldsmith averaged 12.5 points per game for the Evangels and led the team in rebounding.
