3.12.09 - McPherson, KS- The Mid-America Christian University men's basketball team ended their season on Thursday evening at the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament with a 80-71 loss to Southwestern Assembly of God University at Central Christian College.

Although the game was tied at intermission, 34-34, the Evangels were unable to get past SAGU.

The two teams were even in the turnover category each committing 14.

SAGU had five player is double figures in scoring compared to the Evangels who only had three.

Senior Tyron Goldsmith led the Evangels in his last game scoring 19 points. Senior teammate, Derek Winston was right behind him with 17 points and four rebounds. Freshman Charlie Shorter was the only other playing in double figures with 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Evangels finish the year 3-28 overall and 2-20 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
