2.5.10 - Claremore, Okla.-The Mid-America Christian University men's basketball team could not get past Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Roger State University, losing 104-81 on Thursday evening at the Claremore Expo. The Hillcats (15-7, 8-6) had four players scoring in double figures. Deveric Taylor led the team with 25 points. Sylverster Spicer added 17, Lance Sullivan contributed 16 points and John Boyd had 11 points on the night. Brandon Williams led the Evangels in scoring with 18 points. Charlie Shorter joined Williams in double figures, posting 16 points. The Hillcats controlled the game from start to finish. RSU knocked down their first six shots and never looked back. They held a double-digit lead for most of the game. The Evangels committed 20 turnovers and RSU won the battle on the boards 49--46. MACU shot 42 percent from the field and from the free throw line. They shot 33 percent from behind the arc. MACU will host John Brown University on Saturday, February 6th at 8 p.m. |
