At MACU Thiago Lucas appeared in 24 games in 07-08 averaging .6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. Before MACU Prior to attending MACU, Lucas attended New Mexico Junior College and Western Oklahoma State College. As a freshman, Lucas was voted Most Improved Player at New Mexico JC. In 06-07, Lucas helped guide Western Oklahoma State to a trip to the Regional Finals. High School Lucas attended Edir Paulino Albuquerque High School and played one season under Head Coach Marcelo Mesquita. He helped his team advance to the National Tournament after winning its region. Lucas off the Court Lucas lists his favorite NBA team as the Phoenix Suns and when around his friends he goes by the nickname "T." He chose MACU because "it feels like home." Lucas attends Life Church and lists his favorite Bible verse as John 12:27-28. "Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? `Father, save me from this hour'?
