Oklahoma City, Okla. - After two seasons at the helm, Kevin Paxon has stepped down as head baseball coach of the Mid-America Christian Evangels and has been replaced on an interim basis by Dany Brazoban. In Paxon's two seasons at MACU, the Evangels finished a combined 48-57-1 overall and an 18-40-1 mark in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Brazoban is very familiar with the Evangels' baseball program, having served the last two seasons as assistant coach on Paxon's staff. Brazoban served as the team's pitching coach and also assisted in recruiting.

Before arriving at MACU, Brazoban was a two-year starter at Eastern Oklahoma State in Wilburton, Okla. and then pitched one season each at Lipscomb University and Saint Gregory's University.

"I've been waiting for this opportunity and I just thank God and Mid-America Christian for giving me this chance," Brazoban said.

"I have been in baseball for a while and I think this is the time for me to prove myself.  I know almost all of the guys that are coming in and I know they have a lot of talent, so I think we are going to have a good season."

In addition to his baseball duties, Brazoban also currently serves as the school's men's and women's cross country head coach.

Brazoban is a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Saint Gregory's University in 2006.
