NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The reigning Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer offensive player of the week again took center stage for Mid-America Christian University on Wednesday night, and the Evangels kept rolling along with another road win.

MACU (5-0) – who broke into the NCCAA Top-10 at #6 on Tuesday - got two goals in the second half from Tajak to build on a 1-0 halftime lead and take a 3-1 win at Bethel College (Kan.) (3-2).

Kacey Owensby opened the scoring in the first half, scoring the first goal of a match for the second time this season. Mikey Ortega took a shot in the 34th minute which was stopped by Kobi Russom, but Owensby collected the rebound and cashed in the goal to put MACU up 1-0. MACU did not allow the Threshers to record a shot in the first half, and at intermission, MACU led 1-0.

In the 57th minute, Tajak tallied his first goal of the night, doubling the MACU lead to 2-0. Moments later, Richard Ebel scored for the Threshers on just their second shot as a team to trim the lead to 2-1, but Tajak struck again in the 70th minute off an assist from Caleb Roldan to restore the Evangels' two-goal lead, and MACU's defense made it stick. In the final 20 minutes, MACU allowed three shots, but only one on goal, and the Evangels claimed the 3-1 win.

The Evangels have opened the season with five straight victories for just the second time in program history, joining the 2012 team in accomplishing that feat. MACU will look to equal the best start in the history of the program on Friday, when they welcome in the Jaguars of the University of Houston-Victoria (0-0) for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
