Shawnee, Okla. -- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels held off the St. Gregory's Cavaliers with a 17-15 win in the decisive fifth set to improve to a school-best 10-3 on the season in their Sooner Athletic Conference opener Tuesday night (Sept. 18) in Shawnee, Okla.  

The Lady Evangels (10-3, 1-0 SAC) were victorious by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 17-25, 17-15. 

Taryn Walker recorded a match-high 24 digs, while Becca Anderson contributed six block assists.  Calle Solie was credited with six assists and Kacee Montgomery had 15 digs.

Joey Redwine had a team-high 21 kills to pace the Cavaliers' attack.  

The Lady Evangels will look to continue their winning ways with a stern test at No. 11-ranked Oklahoma Baptist University on Thursday night (Sept. 20) at 7:30 p.m., also in Shawnee, Okla.
