Edmond, Okla. -- The Mid-America Christian Lady Evangels pulled away in the first half and went on to a 61-54 victory over the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles in Sooner Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon (Jan. 28) in Edmond, Okla. 
 
The victory avenges an earlier defeat to the Lady Eagles in which OC ended the game on a 17-2 spurt to stun the Lady Evangels 75-71 at the Gaulke Activity Center. 
 
The Lady Evangels seized control of this contest early on as Parris Price sparked a 15-3 run that turned a one-point deficit into a double-digit lead of 21-10 at the 7:45 mark of the opening half. 
 
After a three by Logan McKee cut the lead to five, Price answered with a huge shot with one second left in the half to the give the Lady Evangels a 33-26 lead and the momentum heading into the locker room. 
 
The Lady Eagles fought back in the second stanza and took a 50-49 lead with 5:08 left, but Brittany Woodard and Erica Jones answered with consecutive threes for a five-point advantage at the 4:14 mark. 
 
When Katy O'Steen scored to cut the lead to three, the Lady Evangels sealed the victory by hitting four out of five at the charity stripe in the final 32.5 seconds. 
 
Woodard had 14 points to lead four Lady Evangels in double-figures and also hit 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.  Price had 13 points, along with eight rebounds and seven assists.  Jones had 11 and Nicole Wittman added 10 points.  Brooklyn Bell recorded a team-high nine rebounds. 
 
Roz Hamilton was the lone Lady Eagle in double-figures with 15 points, while McKee had eight points and nine boards.   
 
The Lady Evangels' defense limited the Lady Eagles to only 23.7 percent (14-of-59) from the field and also outscored OC 24-14 in the paint. 
 
Next up for the Lady Evangels is a matchup at St. Gregory's on Thursday evening (Feb. 2) at 6 p.m. in Edmond, Okla.
