Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Parris Price's game-high 26 points led the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to an 81-45 rout of the Texas College Lady Steers Friday night (Nov. 18) to improve their record to 5-0, their best start since joining the NAIA in 2007.

Brittany Woodard got the Lady Evangels off to a fast start with two quick treys for an 11-0 lead four minutes into the game.

Woodard then nailed another from long distance for a 16-4 advantage at the 14:25 mark of the opening half.

After a three-point play by Sekeya Roberson cut the lead to 21-9, Price capped a 8-1 run with a three for a 29-10 cushion.

MACU went on to a 36-18 edge at the half.

The Lady Evangels continued the onslaught in the second  half as a three by Erica Jones and a bucket by Kourtni Williams gave them their largest lead at that point of 48-22 with 16:39 remaining.

Williams then hit consecutive layups to put the Lady Evangels in front 55-26 and they never looked back in cruising to the victory.

Price's 26 points came on 7-of-10 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.  She also had game-highs of five assists and four steals, to go along with four rebounds.

Woodard scored 14, while Williams and Nicole Wittman added 12.  Wittman also pulled down a game-high nine boards.  Erica Jones finished with 11 points.

Keyara Criner paced the Lady Steers (0-3) with 12 points and Roberson added 11.  Ashli Smith recorded a team-high eight rebounds.

The Lady Evangels were again solid defensively, holding the Lady Steers to only a 28.8 percent (17-of-59) shooting clip overall and 23.1 percent (6-of-26) in the first half.

MACU entered the night number one in NAIA Division I in scoring defense per game and are allowing only 38.4 points a game through their five victories.

The road will get tougher on Tuesday night (Nov. 22), as the Lady Evangels are set for a showdown against cross-town rival and No. 3-ranked Oklahoma City.  Tip-off against the Stars is set for 6 p.m. at the Gaulke Activity Center.
