Oklahoma City, Okla. -- An own goal proved to be the only score of the match as the Mid-America Christian University Evangels fell 1-0 to the John Brown University Golden Eagles in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 19) at Evangel Field.

The own goal came 20 minutes into the first half and the Golden Eagles held off the Evangels from that point.

The Evangels (2-9-2, 0-6-1 SAC) couldn't crack the scoreboard despite out-shooting the Golden Eagles 18-15 overall and 8-6 on-goal.

Willy Deleon had a match-high five shots to lead MACU and Misha Kolemasov led the Golden Eagles (7-6-1, 4-1-1 SAC) with four shots.

Zane Bourne gave the Evangels a chance by stopping six shots in the match.  But Pablo Garcia wouldn't let the Evangels break through by making eight saves of his own.

The Evangels will next be at Rogers State on Friday afternoon (Oct. 21) at 3 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.
